Description

Assistant QA Manager - County Tipperary. Overall responsibility. Reporting to the QA Manager the appointee will assist the Quality Management function to develop and implement the quality management systems to ensure strict compliance with legal obligations and customer requirements, and to ensure that products meet or exceed established standards of excellence. Main Responsibilities: To assist the QA Manager with responsibility for the company's Quality Management Systems - main production. Develop, maintain and update the company’s QMS, in line with legal & customer standards and requirements. Conduct bi-Annual Traceability Audits – Product & Packaging. Liaise with and continually develop professional relationships with management, production staff, suppliers and customers. Liase with DAFM officials and ensure items highlighted are closed out in an efficient manner. Member of site HACCP team, challenging processes, food safety systems and maintaining and reviewing the plan and updating as required. Implementation of the internal audit programme to ensure compliance with the QMS and close out NCR’s issued from internal audits of the site. Complete Internal Audits at other group sites as part of the Group Internal Audit system. Review and sign all Micro/ chemical test results from external laboratory and complete investigation - CAPA report where Out of Specification results are received. Risk assess and lead implementation of microbiological, chemical and physical testing schedules, e.g. environmental monitoring risk assessment. Deal with non-conformances & complaints (internal and external) and drive root cause analysis and implement preventive & corrective actions. Respond to complaints and complete CAPA reports as required. Manage the approval of all service ( Cold stores/ Transport/ Canteen and Lab suppliers) as part of the Group Purchasing System. Manage the Pest Control System on site, working with PCP to ensure all actions are closed and documents maintained up to date. Conduct Monthly/Quarterly structural audits, and follow up ensuring closed out. Report on KPIs, targets and trends. Promote and monitor improvements in the areas of Food Safety Quality Culture. Ensure product quality complies with agreed specifications. Develop & maintain training programme for all staff (quality, hygiene, refresher training. Manage all external audits and assist the company with the implementation of BRC. Work with the Quality Team to ensure all requirements are maintained as required. Requirements for this role: Previous Quality Supervisor/Management experience, within the food industry would be an advantage. Experience with 3rd party & DAFM audits (BRC, customer audits etc.). People management experience. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work on own initiative. Experience working to Lean principles and involvement with Continuous Improvement projects.
