I am now recruiting for a superb Engineering Leader role within a truly global organisation. The role will encompass many aspects of software engineering management and its associated lifecycle in a truly progressive and ever growing environment. The role will give you exposure to a multitude of different technologies and technologists thus giving a very diverse working environment. We are looking for a senior technologist to join the team to help draw the technical roadmap for the teams, ensuring all the teams deliver stellar products and on time. Moreover, your previous management experience will enable you to grow teams and instil and maintain a healthy culture of hard work, clean code and also make it a fun and dynamic atmosphere to attract prospective new hires. You will be given agency to align the correct resourced to the relevant projects, be able to put together squads that are capable to hitting strict deadlines and driving high standards when delivering projects from inception into production. So what do you need to be considered for this role. Ideally you will have: Multiple years building teams within an enterprise software company but also if you have experience with SME companies this is a big bonus. You will still be extremely technical from a higher level perspective, still passionate about new technologies and how they're applicable in a progressive organisation. You will have deep expertise in collaborating with other technical outfits within an organisation as a whole. Have grown development teams and been involved in the hiring process and growing a team culture. Being able to delegate proficiently and assigning the correct resources to the relevant projects and knowing the strengths and weaknesses of your team. From a technical perspective: You will have knowledge of the latest software development methodologies and architectures. Moreover, from an architectural perspective you will be an abstract thinker and know the impacts on the business that each technical element will have on it and vice versa. Having hands-on exposure to the following technical areas is highly advantageous: JVM, Microservices, system design and architecture, Cloud heavy environments, DevOps principles and its associated infrastructure and also the role analytics and big data play in the organisation. Knowledge of SaaS, PaaS etc is advantageous also. This is not a hands-on role at all but having deep higher level knowledge of these elements is a massive prerequisite.
