Senior Quality and Process Control Manager (food)- Tipperary. KEY PURPOSE: This role reports to the Technical Manager. This is a plant-based role where positive relationships with operations, production and engineering is a pre-requisite to the success of the role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Overall responsibility for implementation and management of Food Safety & Quality Management Systems and Standards including BRC and Customers’ Standard. • Support the HACCP team: Support the validation of CCP’s and manage the daily verification of CCP’s and OPRP’s. • Ensure the Food Safety management system is established, implemented, and maintained, including identifying, communicating and reviewing the outcomes of the HACCP risk analysis. • Responsible for setting up continuous improvement and Food Safety initiatives on-site and initiating a culture of Food Safety responsibility across all levels. • Manage all documentation and standards required by both customers and Governing Bodies. • Manage Chemistry and Microbiology Laboratory functions of the factory. Implement appropriate analysis plans for labs. • Carry out trend analysis and make recommendations on improvement plans. • Ensure compliance with Customer and Regulatory Standards and Procedures. • Carry out hygiene audits of the site and monitor and support close-outs. • Development and management of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to indicate Quality compliance. Employ Quality Improvement Initiatives for the purpose of developing a CI culture. • Be part of the site Crisis Management Team and support the principal decision-makers regarding product recall or withdrawal. • Be part of the site's Food Defence Team and support the principal decision-maker regarding product recall or withdrawal. • Take responsibility for making decisions regarding the outcome of non-conforming material investigations (and ensuring the appropriate actions are carried out. • Work with appropriate staff to ensure that products meet specifications and Food Safety requirements. • Work closely with the maintenance team for the purpose of PM management and reactive repair of plant. • Ensure clear communication flows and access regarding new or modified raw material and packaging specifications are across all the relevant departments. • Take responsibility for ensuring Product Information & Labelling for the site is accurate and complies with EU Food labelling legislation. • Take responsibility for Personnel Hygiene rules for the site, ensuring these are implemented and strictly maintained. • Work closely with the Pest Control provider on the effective of a good pest control strategy. • Work closely with detergent supplier for control and monitoring monitoring of Cleaning & Sanitisation of the plant and equipment. • Support operations in communication flow to the operators on food safety results and/or current issues. • Develop training programmes for Food Safety and Food Quality for the site. • Support the maintenance of a fully documented quality management system, which reflects the company’s commitment to Food Quality / Safety. • Maintain and update the FSMS through regular audits and systems reviews. • Quality information and reports must be reviewed to ensure that the Company’s commitment to quality is enhanced. • Ensure that effective and timely corrective action is taken when necessary. • Liaise with Operational Management on all quality issues and product specifications.
