Purchasing Manager: Summary: Passionate, family owned business around since the 1940's and servicing some of the biggest retailers in the world my client are market leaders in their segment of food industry. Evolving from a background in farming this organisation have grown from strength to strength and are now seeking a Purchasing Manager to become an integral addition to their senior management team. As Purchasing Manager your job will be to design, implement and develop the purchasing strategy across two production sites primarily focusing on packaging and ingredients while managing a budget over €4.5 m per annum. You will have previous experience in purchasing in a production/manufacturing environment (ideally food but not essential) and be really interested and excited to learn and research the food industry & their vendor's own supply chain. About the Purchasing Manager role: As Purchasing Manager, you will essentially be the person negotiating and ordering from suppliers and dealing with all of the issues/opportunities during this process. This opportunity is a stand-alone job and you will have full autonomy over purchasing strategy for packaging & ingredients. Reporting to the Ops Manager and as an essential part of an enthusiastic & energetic senior management team you will work closely with the CEO, FC, Maintenance Manager, Quality & Safety Manager, Production Manager, Engineering Manager & HR Manager. There is a very competitive salary available along with pension, educational assistance and potentially a bonus structure down the line. While this is a stand-alone position you will have ample support from the senior management team while you get up and running in the purchasing manager job. There is also an opportunity for you to become involved in the management and development of the group's overall purchasing function (€50m) going forward. About You: You will be driven, passionate about purchasing and ideally you will have a relevant qualification although this is not a must have. What is essential however is that you have a really strong numerical aptitude with a proven track record of how to record, interpret and analyse data. You will also have the interest and research skills to really get to know your vendors and the factors that affect their own supply chain.
