Collins McNicholas currently have an exciting opportunity for a CAD Technician with one of their clients in the Mid-West Region. This role is a 9-month fixed term contract position. The role: The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing drawings from sales to production, including production drawings, assembly specifications, generating bills of materials, and approval of drawings. Responsibilities: Support the Engineering department in the production/maintaining of design and working drawings. Liaise with the design team, regarding drawing issues, programmes, detailing and measurement for material and components. Generate and maintain engineering drawings and specifications for finished products, components, raw materials, sub-assemblies, fixtures and assembly aids. Taking schematics from designs made by others to create detailed accurate drawings for manufacture. Check drawing and tolerances of others. May be required to develop and maintain CAD related procedures. Install and maintain new software revision levels. Requirements: Higher certificate (NFQ Level 6) in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent is advantageous. AutoCad experience is essential. Good working knowledge of Inventor. Previous knowledge of using Vault would be an advantage. Draughting experience on sheet metal or metal fabrication would be advantageous. Ability to visualize 2D and 3D CAD component geometry.
