Senior Buyer - FMCG. This role will play a key part of the direct category management function where you will implement best in class procurement for direct spend on ingredients & packaging categories. Key Responsibilities. You will: - Drive strategy development & implement for key direct spend categories such as ingredients and packaging (corrugate; bottles & caps. Identify & execute procurement & strategic sourcing projects to drive value & deliver significant cost savings. Manage the supplier relationships within these categories to maximize any value add opportunities. Provide fact-based analysis of the supply market, identify & deliver savings, risk identification & mitigation. Build & maintain relationships with key business stakeholders & suppliers. Provide cost & market analysis for reporting & overall category management. Create monthly & quarterly reports for detailed budget creation. Take responsibility for your category results through building relationships with stakeholders, across functions & geographies & leading cross-functional teams as appropriate. Education. Degree level qualification in relevant subject preferable. Skills & Experience. Ideally you will have previous experience in the FMCG industry - food or drinks category management. Have strong financial & business acumen & be very strong on Excel. Show where you have lead & conducted the negotiation of contracts across direct spend categories. Can demonstrate where you have achieved cost savings, risk mitigation, supplier consolidation & strategic vendor partnerships. Be happy to travel within Ireland & the UK to meet suppliers & stakeholders.
